Toyota on Monday said it is recalling about 9,400 copies of the 2010 Lexus GX 460 to update the stability-control software--just one week after Consumer Reports magazine warned that the vehicle was prone to oversteer in turns and urged its subscribers not to buy the vehicle. It's the latest in a series of gaffes that have damaged Toyota's reputation for high quality and led the automaker to recall millions of vehicles to fix problems such as sticking gas pedals. Honda will bring out a significant mid-cycle change to its embattled Civic compact this fall, just 18 months after it launched, a high-ranking executive told dealers here. The move is a rush to improve the Civic in time for the 2013 model year. The Civic's cheapened interior and other reductions in content got a critical reviews from The Wall Street Journal, and Consumer Reports removed the model from its recommended list.

Just like the car’s acceleration itself, things happened very quickly for the McLaren P1. We saw the initial design study at the 2012 Paris motor show, and shortly afterwards, CAR spied disguised prototypes putting in the hard testing yards on the mountain roads of Spain. By the 2013 Geneva motor show, McLaren was ready to pull the wraps off the finished (and barely altered) P1 design, and give us hints to some of the performance figures offered by a carbonfibre, aero-focused missile using a combination of twin-turbo V8 and electric boost power.
